Bespoke software is software built for your business alone, around how you actually work, instead of bending your business to fit an off-the-shelf product. It makes sense when nothing on the market fits, or when the workarounds cost more than building it properly.
Off-the-shelf software is built for the average business. If your work doesn't look average, you end up paying for features you don't use, missing the ones you need, and holding it all together with spreadsheets.
Bespoke software used to mean a big team and a long wait. Not any more. Modern tools, AI among them, mean it can now be built faster and for less.
What we do
Start from how your business works, not from a template
Build in stages, so you're using it early
Connect it to the systems you keep, like your accounting software
Hand it over documented, and stay on hand while it beds in
In practice
BuildTrack, built for a property development company
A property development company needed one place to run its developments. We built BuildTrack: feasibility and financial modelling, cash flow forecast against actuals, MYOB import and reconciliation, scheduling with a Gantt chart and critical path, project documents, a curated view for lenders and partners, and trades confirming their dates by SMS or email.
It replaced the spreadsheets the company ran on. BuildTrack is now a Hartsco product, open to other organisations since October 2026, with access by request.
It starts with a free 30-minute strategy call. If it's worth doing, we map it out in writing, build it, then hand it over and stay on hand while it beds in. See the four steps.
Questions
What does bespoke software cost?
It depends on what it needs to do. After the free strategy call, if it's worth doing, we'll put the scope and the cost in writing before any work starts.
What happens once it's built?
We hand it over with documentation, train your people, and stay on hand while it beds in.
Can it connect to the software we already use?
Usually, yes. BuildTrack, for example, imports from MYOB and reconciles against it. We'll check what your other systems allow before we start.
